Leab‘s history in brief:

1972

Establishment of the Lövånger plant. The production focused on the company’s own line of products sold under proprietary trademarks.

1980

The business is expanded to comprise contract manufacturing; computer equipment, pacemakers and industrial electronics.

1998

A heavy expansion takes place during the latter part of the 1990’s and Leab becomes one of a Sweden’s leading contract manufacturers in advanced electronics. The business area of proprietary products is sold.

1999

Leab gains a strong and long-term owner as the industrialist Carl Bennet acquires Leab’s parent company Sorb Industri (nowdays merged into Carl Bennet-company Lifco AB).

2004

Leab begin their own production in Estonia through their subsidiary Leab Eesti OÜ in Tallinn.

2006

Leab strengthen its position in the central region of Sweden by acquiring ElektronikProdukter i Järlåsa. Through this acquisition Leab can offer even better services for their customers in this area.

2007

Leab establish a logistics- and service centre in Kungsbacka south of Gothenburg.


There has been lots of development since 1972 when the production unit in Lövånger was established for production of our own products. Today is Leab Group’s sole focus is contract manufactoring.
